Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone, born on 5 January, 1986 (pronounced as [diPIka Paduko] or [paDukoor [paDuko]), is a famous Indian actor in films. She is most often seen in Hindi-language films. The awards she has received include three Filmfare Awards. She is among India's top-paid actors. Time magazine also named her one of the 100 most influential individuals around the globe in 2018. The award also included by Time magazine with the TIME100 Impact Award for 2022. Padukone was the daughter of the badminton world winner Prakash Padukone. Padukone was born and raised in Bangalore. As a teenager she competed in badminton at national level championships but left her sport to pursue a career as a model. Soon, she began receiving requests to perform in films. Her debut acting role was as Aishwarya the Kannada lead character. Padukone then played a dual part alongside Shah Rukh Khan in her debut Bollywood film, the romantic Om Shanti Om (2007), which won her an award called the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
