Dolly-Parton
Born on Jan. 19th of 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later include 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to escape the hardships of living through her vibrant and expansive imagination. Before she learned to read and write she began to compose the songs she wrote herself. After 8 years of age, she got her first guitar. When she was 11 years old, she began to sing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. That same year, she recorded her first album with Gold Band Records an independent small label. Even though she became popular in the local scene while she was at the high school years, her goals were greater. The year 1964 was the day that followed her graduation from high school, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first album to be charted for the first time on Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer for his show that was syndicated in the years prior to this. Parton accepted the job and in the year 1967, she signed to RCA Records in 1968 and was a part of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's Show because the success of her own songs such as Joshua Coats of Many Colors or Jolene was surpassing their joint albums. The song by Parton, I Will Never Love You (for Wagoner), reached the No. number 1 position after the duo separated. 1. for the first time in 1974.
