Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress director producer, and vocalist. As an intelligent and attractive actress, Lucy Liu serves as a role-model for numerous Asian actors who are in Hollywood who wish to make it big. After a series of appearances in popular TV series and movies, she gained fame for her role as a character in Ally McBeal legal comedy where she played Ling Woo. Her sudden fame translated into films roles like Shanghai Noon or Charlie's Angels. The actress also gave an outstanding performance in the role of Japanese criminal lord O'Ren Ishii as part of Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill Volume 1. At the same time she appeared in box-office failures including Rise: Blood Hunter. For animated films such as Kung Fu Panda, Tinker Bell as well as others, she voiced prominent characters. Mia Mason, in Cashmere Mafia and other small-screen characters, failed to achieve any success. Southland, the critically-acclaimed drama police show that Liu played regularly played a part that allowed her to be a renowned actor. Liu selects her roles with care so as to avoid being stereotyped in an industry with a lot of competition. Although she is adamant about her heritage but it doesn't mean she has to be in her work being an artist.
